Let’s get right to it…everyone in Azeroth is going to need to raise some cash at some point. Grinding and questing will eventually get you the money you need, but let’s face it, it will take a while. If you really want to make some money your best bet is to get familiar with the Auction House. Around level 35 I realized I was going to need a significant amount of money to get a mount once I reached 40. The website www.wowwiki.com has a helpful guide to making money (http://www.wowwiki.com/Making_Money_Guide) which includes tips for using the AH in addition to other money making methods such as farming, disenchanting, dancing, etc.
Let me tell you, I am totally confused by this port. I see yellow exclamation marks and question marks all over the place, but I’m having a tough time getting to them. Booty Bay is a complete maze to me, but I’ll eventually figure it out. I love their setup for the AH, Bank, and Mailbox - very nice!
So; why am I here in Booty Bay. Well, first I had a hard time deciding what to do about my priest. I finally got the mount and I got a bit board - so I started playing my other ALTs (Kathrine, EotE officer, and Anakinn [human paladin]). I thought I would get Kathrine up-to-speed since I ditched her at level 30 to start my priest. It was cool, but after a while I realized I’m not getting new content with her - so I’m back on my priest and gaining experience before Wrath of the Lynch King drops.
Marfejokin standing over the corpse of Archmage Arugal. Stole his robe too with the help of two other players, of course.
Ok; maybe my title is a bit too harsh, but it really burns me how many items (at my level) are soulbound. I went to bed early last night and woke up around 3:30 AM. I wasn’t feeling tired so I gently snuck out of my bed (not to wake the wife) and logged into WoW. I have about 20/25 quests to rummage through, but Ashenvale is a bit dangerous right now so I thought I’d do Stockade since I had a quest for it. I got on the LookingForGroup channel and posted my availability for SWS. I saw another group chatting about SFK? I inquired what was SFK and they told me Shadowfang Keep. Sounds cool, I’ve never been there.
So; we meet at Wetlands and make the long journey to Silverpine Forest. It was hilarious! While traveling to this dangerous place, it was so surprising that any 30+ mob we came across - targeted me out of everyone. It’s like they had a vendetta on priests. I would heal, shield, psychic scream - but they just kept coming. This one spider wouldn’t give up his meal (me). You know how after a mob gets out of his zone, he’ll eventually release his agro and return to his spot. Not this one - he followed us in into Refuge Pointe (Arathi Highlands) and none of the alliance NPCs would help us. They just watched me DIE!!! We laughed it off and kept moving north-west. Recruiting is an ability now open only to officers and higher ranks. This is to help prevent people from slipping back into the guild after being kicked out. If you have alts or spot someone you think would be a good addition to the guild, please feel free to let an officer know who they are if you want them recruited. The standard 14 day wait period between being initiated and becoming a member will still apply for anyone other than an alt. Read the rest of this entry »

Real size of Mana Energy Potion. I filled the one to the right with cranberry juice.
Man I am SOoo disappointed with Mana Energy Potion. I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought it. I bought two bottles for about $11.00 - when it came in the mail… as you can see from the picture above it’s about the size of 3 or 4 quarters or an average MP3 player. Man that is tiny! I can see why they would have the size like that though - if you’re keep true to the lore of RPG, with the players bags (or man purse), with all those other things in their bags - a real potion would probably be the size of 4 quarters. But NOT for $11.00 - or maybe their keeping to the lore of that too. In the Auction House you can certainly purchase 2 potions for about the same price. Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve been thinking on how I can use some of my less used toons, such as “Fergatron” (Gnome/Warlock) and “Alexvic” (Blood Elf/Paladin) and how can I lessen the time I’m spending going to the AH after every couple of quests to sell my loot. It got to the point where I wouldn’t do much questing, but spent my time in Darnassus at the AH.
I listened to my newest RP podcast (Mischief & Mahem) and their guest has toons specifically for banking. I know this is an old idea and just about every REAL WoW player does this, but it never clicked until today. After my bag gets full I can simply mail my items to “Fergatron” and have him camp out at the AH. It’s brilliant!!! While I go off and level my character I can put some time into “Fergatron”. That’ll work because the AH/Mail system at IronForge is so much better than Darnassus.
