Curse.com

I saw an article on WoW Insider and I had to link to it.  This post has all the essential addons you would want to have with the latest 3.0 release of World of Warcraft.  I’m an addon junkie so I know I’ll be downloading some of the suggested game enhancers.

Auctioneer

We’re all wondering what happened to the WoW killer-add-on, Auctioneer, after patch 3.0.2 was released.  A lot of us downloaded the compatible version only to think that it didn’t work.  Well after skimming their wiki - I see that everything was intentional.  See more details on Auctioneer at their site:

All of the views and stats are still there, they’re just turned off.

  1. The only way I know how to get to Auctioneer’s configuration is to go to the auction house and once the auction window is present, click on “Configure” on the top.
  2. Expand the “Stat Modules” option and click on “Histogram”.  That’s the one folks are used to.  Go ahead and click on everything to see what stats you want and what you don’t.

Jintha'Alor in The Hinterlands

What a tale of war, deception, pain and brotherly trust.  Well, not really, but I could fake it.  At this point I’m not even into the Lore anymore.  I just want to hit 70.  I’m a lite role player and from 20 - 45 I read all the quest details and for a moment is was really neat learning about the conflicts these NPCs were having.  After 50 it was all about getting to 60 and then getting to 70. Screw the lore, just get me to an end-game status.  I said all of that to say I don’t even remember how I got into this quest-chain.  All I know is I was back at The Hinterlands fighting the troll menace.

Marfe Jokin at Stockade

OK; I’ve finally crossed the half century mark in Azeroth.  As of writing this, I’m level 51.  It’s funny how the game was getting boring to me around level 45 to 49.  It seemed like I would never level up.  After getting over this hump - I’ve instantly gained more interest in questing… or is it really just finishing the quests for more experience points.  I try and read the lore, but I totally use the add-on, Lightheaded, to gain quick insight on quests that aren’t easily laid out.  I find myself logging in a lot with the goal to level up.  I want to make 60, I want my dungeon set (dunno what level), I want to make 70, I want to quit playing shadow and finally run discipline spec’d.  I think… I’m in need of an intervention.

Blackrock Depths

I ran an instance, Blackrock Depths, with Icesseyes and Madmaxx last night.  It was totally crazy, and how I found out about it was totally cool.  I logged on yesterday to do a bit of guild recruiting (focusing on the lower-level guys) and I checked GroupCalendar.  I usually check it, just to make sure I have the sync down correctly, and to my surprise there was an event that I didn’t create!  I quickly checked to see what was going on and Jordi scheduled a Blackrock Depths run for 7pm, server time.  Of course, Madmaxx was online and I asked him about it.  Jordi scheduled it for maxx and if anyone wanted to run they were more than welcome.  I marked in the calendar that I was a “maybe” and went on my merry way.

A very full tavern with role players.

Oh my goodness, what a night of role playing.  It was exciting, crazy, and quite interesting.  Elwynn Forest seems to be the hub for role players - I don’t know why, but you can always count on folks doing a bit of RPing near the tavern.  It started out like any other night - I would log in with the intentions of completing some quests to level up.  I want to be a money machine for the guild - weird dream, but I at least have one.  It’s been a while since I logged in, real life has been kicking my butt and at the end of the day I choose to sleep so I can tackle it again the next morning.
