My Night in Azeroth

Undead Shadow PriestLast night was a really crazy night in Azeroth. I started out the night, telling my wife, “I’m only going to do two quests and I’m headed to bed.” How many of you know from experience that that’s never the case. Everything started off fine; I was in Ironforge at the weapons master’s place. The previous night I tried to see if my priest could learn two-handed mace, since he knew one-handed mace. To my surprise I can only learn staves, dagger and one-handed mace – what a jip!

I made it back to Darkshore trying to figure out which quest to do first and that’s where the night veered off road into a 3+ hour run. I met a guy that wanted to go to The Barrens. I’ve never been there so I said yeah that sounds good, where is it? He said it was a long walk, but I auto-followed him – man that option is great!

We got close to Auberdine and we saw this other guy fighting some furlogs and the party leader asked him if he wanted to come with us to The Barrens. He said no and bid us ado. We stopped in Auberdine to resupply (not much there) and he headed off. Soon I saw that guy we just talked to. He ended up joining with us. Everything was cool until the party leader said, “we’re going off road” – we ran into some spiders and wolves and they had us going in circles. My man kept telling us to “RUN”!!! I peeked at my map a couple times to see where we were trying to go and I saw that “bro” (I think it’s brosepth) was in the area, but I didn’t have any time to chat.

I soon found out that he wanted to go and kill Horde. I thought that was weird since we’re considered low-level. I’m a level 20 priest with a level 22 warrior and a level 26 hunter. I always thought of “hunting Horde” around level 40+ because the NPC guards are usually 40. So; we went on and got into Horde territory. We got our asses handed to us by some live Horde players – they camped around our bodies for a good while, but as soon as they left we high-tailed it out of there. We got to the barrier of the Barrens and fought a guard – more like ran to the hills :). We found an opening to the left of the wall and got through the barrier.

It was fun and neat – the place was so vibrant with orange and red. We wasted some time killing and being killed by NPCs. Me and the new guy found it to be a waste off time and left to go level our characters. Long story – me and my new friend (forgot his name, but added him to my friend’s list) did about 3 quests and even tried to fight an elite level 27 mob. Kicked our asses. We tried 4 or 5 times, but I kept running out of mana to protect him. I wished I didn’t go shadow priest and went more for holy. Maybe I can reset my talent – I recalled that the purpose of my priest was to be a help to the guild and I don’t think shadow talent is doing it.

Oh I also found out that my priests DPS is complete garbage and I HAVE to have someone with me to take on more than one mob. It sucks, but I’ll have to live with it.
